For awhile now I have been appending a concatemer of 80 or so peptides containing common->rare variants to my human fasta file that I use for database searching. It works well for confirming matched samples, calling apoe status, etc. It’s based mostly on unpublished experimental data. Any value in reporting this approach, or just stick the sequence and a key in supplemental data of next paper?
