ORCID is widely adopted and integrated, but many entries are empty, unverified, spam, or fake. There is a lot of scope for use and improvement. Other identifiers might crowd out ORCID and some countries don't see the benefit. However, more focus by publishers on research integrity increases the usefulness of ORCID and it can link to and transfer information from other identifiers.
