''• COVID19 Cases Incidence is increasing in the most part of the country with values as high as 42 per 100,000 inhab. Highest incidence has been recorded in Sardinia Region (42 per
100,000 abitanti), the lowest in #Basilicata (6 per 100,000 inhab.). ''
''• The most affected age group is 90+ years old
(48 cases per 100,000 inhab.), increasing compared earlier week. Overall, the incidence is increasing in all age groups, with a median age of 57, stable compared earlier weeks.''
''• The percentage of #reinfections (those with at least a confirmed infection in the past) showed a slight increase, at around 36%.''
''• Indicators of severity (hospitalization in acute beds or ICUs) remains stable or with small increase for all age groups. Hospitalization rates are higher in those aged 90+ years old.''
''• On the basis of the #SARS-CoV-2 gene sequences stored in the national platfrom I-Co-Gen, during the last surveillance week with curated data, from 07/08/2023 to 13/08/2023 (available at 28 August 2023), #Omicron subvariants remain prevalent, with #XBB19 (45,2%) the most frequently isolated. The subvariant #CH11 is sporadically detected.''
