Does exercise matter? New study shows an 11 year difference in life expectancy between the least and the most active.
I get that if you do not exercise this sounds depressing. But as a former couch potato, here is my best advise:
When I was 30, I grew really tired of being in bad shape, and luckily I realised the only reason I never exercised was, it bored me. So I tried out 10 different ways to exercise, and suddenly I found something which I thought was fun…

By trying out different activities, I realised I was really triggered by a competitive element, when I tried badminton. Once I entered that court I got so into the game, I completely forgot I was exercising.
So I played badminton once every week for a couple of years, and because of all that exercise it became much easier to try out more ways of exercising.
The point is: Don't exercise — have fun! Try out different activities and find the one which makes your heart tick.

@randahl I keep fit by cycling to work. I do enjoy it, but I think it works for me because it is part of my routine. I don't have to make a special effort to get out and exercise.
